Lyra Isabelle- Lyra is a bit insubstantial, but it's pretty enough. Isabelle is so overused.
Ruby Rea (prn. 'ray')- I usually love gem names, but something always keeps me from liking Ruby. Maybe it's the "rube" part. Rea is as filler a middle name as I've ever heard.
Mahogany Desiree- You're supposed to come up with your "stripper name" in grade seven while playing silly games with your friends. Not have it bestowed upon you at birth.
Amari Noah- At least it's not Cal Amari. Noah is even more overused for boys than Isabelle is for girls.
Alif Ocean- I've never heard the name Alif before. Can't say as I ever want to again. Ocean is an interesting choice. It's not my style.
Jude Adán (Ulysses Javier)- Something tells me I would like these parents. The particular names aren't my thing, but the overall style and the boldness is cool.

Lyra Isabelle is gorgeous.
Ruby Rea is country as heck!
Mahogany Desiree... I like Desiree (especially this spelling), but don't think Mahogany belongs on people.
Amari Noah... I don't understand Amari. What's it supposed to be? Where did it come from? Why do I keep seeing it in BAs around me?! Noah's okay.
Alif Ocean is a big fat "no" for me, sorry.
Jude Adán is a surprising Irish combo that flows well (Adán is Irish, right?)! Ulysses is nms, but cool - but if I were Hispanic, Javier would be one of my first choices for a son.
EDIT: Adán is Spanish, my bad. Though that makes more sense with Javier. It's just that I honestly thought that was a fada!

Mahogany Desiree —-> Mahogany Desire —> a paint color
FWIW, I think Mahogany is kind of cool, I like color names in general. It’s lacking a good nickname, but pairing it with Desiree does nothing for me
Lyra Isabelle - Love Lyra, but not a big fan of Isabelle. Still, it flows.
Ruby Rea - Meh. Interestingly, though, my friend just had a baby girl and named her Rea ("Ray).
Mahogany Desiree - :( Very stripper.
Amari Noah - Dislike
Alif Ocean - Dislike
Jude Adan - Nice. How is Adan pronounced?

Wow, if I thought the name Mahogany Desiree would get such trashy comments, I wouldn't have mentioned it. This is a real life baby. Her name was obviously chosen with a lot of pride and love, and to call it a "stripper name" is insulting -- it goes way further than providing your opinion. I hate that names chosen with pride by African-American people get this kind of commentary on this board.
Don't go all holier than thou!
Likewise?
No offense meant! (never mind)
Step off the soapbox honey. You have absolutely no legs to stand on in accusing Ariane
Were we suppose to know it’s an African American name??? No one is passing judgement on the bearer. Don’t post about names you don’t honestly want to know opinions about.
Btw, so it’s ok to call someone’s opinion trashy but not ok to give honest impressions of a combo? I’m confused

Opinions are fine. "I don't like this name" is an opinion. When we're talking about names, we're talking about the people who they represent, and our implicit judgments of them or their parents. I hate the "stripper name" comment. It's not an opinion worth sharing.
No, we aren’t talking about the people who wear the name. There may be some inherent judgement towards the bestowers of the name but not the bearers. You may hate a comment but that doesn’t make it any less of an opinion. I think saying you hate that comment isn’t an opinion worth sharping- see, all subjective. Again, if you’re too sensitive to hear people’s honest impressions then best to just not ask for them.

Mahogany is just astonishingly ugly.
It's Ebony's ugly cousin. It's trying to do the same thing as Ebony, but just because of that hog in the middle of it, it fails.
No surprise that in its heyday, Ebony was way more popular than Mahogany will ever be.
