So, years and years ago I loved this name and got tons of weird looks.

Then, maybe 5 - 7 years ago, a couple people started talking about how much they like it. This was not on-line. All these new fans were tweens and teens in my after-school programs or youth groups... and I thought "gee, in ten years everyone is going to suddenly start loving this name when these girls start having kids".

I love Priscilla. It's fancy yet strong... it's got a bit of old lady curmudgeon, yet frills all over.
Pris and Prisca would have been my go-to nicknames.

II think all we need is a television or movie character with the name and we will see the charts boom with more appreciation for Priscilla.

Side note:
The only Priscilla I have met was in her late 60s (probably 70s or 80s now) and went by Silly. I met her in a Doctor's office and she was with her friend Dotty (Dorothy).

I love this name; I met a young adult (perhaps early twenties?) by this name--perhaps a year & a half prior(?); There would not be a question of any attitude, however I would not have shortened it unless she volunteered the request.

I wish I liked it because it was my dad's mom's name. I never knew her as she died when I was only a month old, so I've always wished she had a name I loved because it would've meant a lot to my dad if I used her name for my own daughter. But I just don't like Priscilla at all. I think it sounds very frilly and snobbish, unintelligent, cold. And the nicknames are no better.

I'm not fond of the swallowed L consonant it has. Having that swallowed L always seems tense in the throat to me, and makes saying the name laborious rather than mellifluous.

I think, also, that I prefer Drusilla to Priscilla. I don't like the "priss" syllable. I do think it a little tacky, but just a little.

I've always found Priscilla to be both frilly and no nonsense. Kind of like a Victorian headmistress or the character Violet Crawley from the TV series Downton Abbey.

It's a nice name but it's a big personality and I don't like any of the nn's and I feel that a name like it needs good nn's or I would not use it as a fn.

Cordelia, Cornelia, Wilhelmina, Philomena, Henrietta, and Theodosia have a lot of similarities in what vibe they give off but they all have much better nn options.

I personally like names that are sort of dated like Drusilla, Maude, or Prudence. It is honestly classy compared to stuff like Madassyn, Kayley, Baylee, and Emerson. Plus you can't shorten it.

I love Priscilla but it would take a special girl to overcome the expectations of being prissy and stuck-up.

I like it! It's not too common, but not unheard of.

I like it. I’ve seen it in my family tree a couple of times, way back in the 1700s. I like it best as a middle name though, as the nns aren’t great.

I absolutely love the name. I get that some might think it's frilly or stuck-up, but cheap? Absolutely not. It has been around since the 17th century and it's very sophisticated and, as you said, elegant. It baffles me how anyone could think of it as cheap, to be honest.

I'm always reminded of my favorite author, J.R.R. Tolkien because he named his only daughter Priscilla. And he was a man of great taste, that's for sure :)

Frilly, stuck up and cheap is kind of a good description of my feelings.

I never thought it was prissy. I like it. It sounds like the name of a sweet, grounded kind of person.

I really like it. To me it's not overly frilly. Stuck-up, maybe, I don't know, but I wouldn't let that stop me from using it. It is so not cheap. No idea where that would come from. It makes me think of Puritans, how is that "cheap"? Anyway, I went to high school with a Priscilla, and I don't come from a place where people gave cheap names.
