My cousin just had a baby and named her son Atticus.
It does seem a bit over the top, but also not. I mean, it is technically simple and easy to say and read... but it just has such glaring literary associations.
That said, I asked my cousin if she really like the book and that is why she chose the name. She admitted that she has never read the book and they saw the name on a video game. So... for her, no association.
I don't think it needs to be relegated to GP unless you feel strongly about it.
