[Facts] Re: Trying to find the meaning of my daughter's name
in reply to a message by Kindred
If you are confident that the name really is Swahili in origin, I suggest that you contact the Kenyan embassy in your country, and address your query to the cultural attache.
If you find out, one way or the other, please let us know.

I think the key is "confident that the name really is Swahili in origin." Many people make up an origin and meaning for a name, and I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case with this name, as Tyh- is not a combo of letter really used in Swahili.
I must admit, I'm sceptical too. And Tyh- isn't a letter combo I'd expect to see anywhere, really. But there are plenty of loan words in kiSwahili, so who knows? She might surprise us all.
