Linfa and Kennedy have been happily married for one month. Both come from Indian backgrounds, though they live in South Africa at the moment. Linfa is a cook at a local orphanage, while Kennedy is a scientist - she specializes in environmental science! The couple is quite rich, Linfa having received a large inheritance from a great-aunt. So far, they live comfortably, and are hoping to have a good life together!
YEAR 1: Finances - Loose money on stock. Family - Divorce
Kennedy may be very smart, but that doesn’t mean she chooses good investments! After a poor decision on her part, the Gupta-Misra duo lost a good sum in one fell swoop. And Linfa picked up a couple extra shifts to make up for it, glaring at her wife the whole time. The tension left over from that didn’t go away, however, and within a year Linfa had divorced Kennedy and was on her own once more. Which, to be honest, she doesn’t mind.

YEAR 2: Adoption
Linfa was beginning to feel quite lonely, so she decided to adopt a child! She chose to adopt a child from the orphanage she works at, being already familiar with the kids there. She has recently welcomed a four-year-old girl named Sekai Tumelo. Sekai has curly black hair, and big brown eyes. As she already knew Linfa, Sekai settled right in. She’s a bright, friendly child, and Linfa couldn’t be happier.

Sekai fell out of the tree in the yard, and broke her arm. This led to a hospital stay that cost more than Linfa would have liked. It put a dent in the family of two’s finances, but they should be okay. Two months later, Linfa’s brother and his wife came to visit for a while - that turned into six months. They haven’t left yet. Send help.

Well, Linfa doesn’t work at the orphanage anymore. She took a different, better-paying job at a popular restaurant not far from home. She’s had to, with Sekai being in school and being on her own. She’s starting to miss having another adult around to help, but she wouldn’t change anything about her life. Especially after she convinced her brother to finally go home! A few months after starting her new job, Linfa met a man. A very nice man, named Kuro, who she started dating soon after. He’s recently moved in with Linfa and Sekai, and to be honest, Linfa’s quite happy with him.

YEAR 5: Family event - take a family vacation. Career - promotion
You read that right, Linfa, Sekai, and Kuro took a vacation. They went to America, where Linfa’s family lives (though they did not visit her family for the whole time). Sekai, who’d never left South Africa, loved every second of it. She’s already asking when the next family vacation will be. To add more good news, Linfa was recently promoted! This means more pay for her, which she’s very glad of. It makes things much easier for her.

Linfa and Kuro, after talking it over, decided to adopt! Once again, they went with local adoption, and have brought home a four-year-old girl named Neo Mtendere. She’s much quieter than Sekai, and seems very shy. Linfa hopes she settles in better. Sekai, on the other hand, is thrilled at the idea of a little sister, and sticks by Neo as much as she can.

This time, it’s Linfa’s fault. She had an accident at work with a knife, it wasn’t even that bad, but the bill was still worse than it should have been. To say Linfa was annoyed would be an understatement. And add to that the exchange student from Britain - Louise - that the family is hosting, and there’s just a lot going on. Neo’s started school, and Sekai’s close to being a pre-teen (a terrifying thought to Linfa). Sometimes, Kuro’s the only sane person in the house!

FINALLY. Linfa and Kuro were married just a few months ago. Honestly, it wasn’t even a surprise, they were practically married anyway. Linfa couldn’t be happier with Kuro, and the girls are both very excited by the new development (though really, it’s nothing they aren’t used to).

Last month she gave birth to five (yes, FIVE) babies! They take after their father in terms of appearance, with straight brown hair and brown eyes.

Just how Linfa ended up taking care of eight children, she’s not sure. But the point stands that Sekai came home from school one day trailing her friend Tadala, saying the other girl didn’t have any place to go and could she please stay with them? It turned out that Tadala’s parents were of the neglectful sort, and Linfa couldn’t stand for that, so she got herself legal rights to look after the twelve-year-old. On top of her own seven kids. And really, Tadala isn’t a problem. She’s very helpful with the quints, in fact, unlike Sekai. So yeah, no one minds having her there.
