I like Tamara b/c it is not trendy or overused but an old name.
It makes me think of a Russian femme fatale, but I like the name allthesame.
Tammy sounds kind of childish to me, I prefer the full name. But maybe the nn Tammy is unavoidable in English-speaking countries.

I instantly think of the show Sister, Sister which I loooooooved as a kid! With Tia and Tamara, the twins :-) and lil cutie Roger! That was a great show...
I like how it's pronounced there as well - tuh-mar-ah
There's a new horror movie out now called Tamara but they pronounce it "tam-er-ah" which I hate. It sounds so ugly that way.
All in all, it's a nice name but I'd never use it personally.

The other sister was called Tamera though not Tamara.
I think they spelt it like that either way ti had an E in.

Ahh... I never saw it spelled out that much and that's just what I heard, I suppose :-)

I've never erally cared for it, sorry. But I find Tamar (ta-MAR) gorgeous.
