[Facts] LANETTE
This is my given name using this spelling of the name. I will be 58 this year. The name is of French origin and it means "from the little lane". Lanetta is a derivative of Lanette. Lynnette is the original spelling of the name, and the name Lynnette is derived from Lynn. How do I edit the meaning and origins of this name? I found it's origins and meaning in a book of baby names my mom had. The book was copywritten in the 1950s prior to my birth.

This doesn't seem like an etymological possibility for the name to mean "from the little lane." In French that would be De la petite voie. That has nothing to do with the name Lanette. It is likely that the baby name book made up the meaning, especially to coincide with popular interest of the time period. The same thing happens today in which people make up meanings for names instead of using etymology.
I think you will find that Lanette, Lynette, Linnet and all of its other variants are variations of Luned. See here: https://www.behindthename.com/name/lynette
