Help[Opinions] Malcolm
I was hanging out with my mom earlier today and she told me that if I turned out to be boy, she would've named me Malcolm. I haven't really thought about Malcolm that much before but, now that I have, I think it's actually cooler than my own name. I like very strong and grounded names, especially for boys, and Malcolm definitely fits the criteria.
What are your thoughts on Malcolm? If you were born the opposite sex, what would your parents have named you?

Malcolm is a fine name, I like it very much.
I don't know what my name would have been , had I been a boy. however, my mother had a boy six years after me;he died, poor child, only living a week, from a blood condition that can be fixed no but not then.
His name was Roderick, so perhaps I would have been Roderick, since that was their chosen name.

I don't mind Malcolm, but I don't like it enough to use.
When I asked my parents what I'd have been named if I'd been a boy, they got embarrassed and had to admit that they hadn't given it a thought! They'd just spent months arguing about girl names, and when I was born they used one they hadn't thought of before.
My guess is that, since both of their fathers were named Thomas, I might well have been a Tom.

It's a name I've always liked - it sounds capable and intelligent and has a warmth to it.
No idea what my parents would've named me had I been a boy, but I do know they had a list as long as my arm of girls' names!

I really hate Malcolm. It was a little bit popular around when I was born I guess - I went to school with a few. Hard to describe just what I find so ugly about it, it's just one of those names for me.
I'd have been Alexander if I'd been a boy. It wasn't as popular in the year of my birth as it suddenly became in the next few years. My sister would have been Angus or Ewan (ew). I don't know where all this Scottishness came from...my father is English and my mother from Texas

I find Malcolm complex to pronounce and quite too similar to Michael.
Anyway I know that my mother used to like Diego maybe because of Zorro (don Diego de la Vega) and because it is simple, Spanish and means 'educated'.
But I dislike it because here in Italy this name is too related with Diego Armando Maradona. I dislike football so if everyone says 'oh Diego..like Maradona!' It would not be a good experience.
Fortunately I'm a female.
