I find Lana sweet and delicate.
In Italy I think it became popular because of a Smalville character and most recently it is known because of Lana Del Rey.
It is quite similar to names such Lara or Mara.
Despite in 2015 there were 9 babies named Lana I think that the link with wool is still too strong (because it is a word).
