I like both names a lot. Probably enough to use them in real life which is something I can only say about a handful of girl names.

Linnéa / Linnea is super popular here (and apparently the 9th most common name in the country) but I suspect Louisa would be mistaken for Louise a lot and to constantly correct people about your name is tiring.

Neither of them would be my choice. I far prefer Louise to Louisa, but even then, not enough to use. And I prefer just about any Lin- or Lyn- name to flimsy Linnea.

I don't think they're too similar, though. Similar enough to show that the same parent chose them both, but not cloyingly matchy.

If I had to, I'd seriously consider Eloise, Lyndall and Lucy.

I definitely prefer Linnea. It's a gorgeous, unusual name, easy to say and spell, very usable. Louisa I've never been able to like, just the sound is too wheezy for me and I knew one a long time ago who soured Louise/Louisa for me.

I do think they're too similar for siblings, not just because of the initial but also because of the similar length. That said, I like both of them. Linnea sounds unique but sophisticated (which is something a lot of parents try to do these days and fail), and Louisa is a classic you just can't go wrong with, especially with the nickname Lou.
I honestly don't know what I'd choose. Depends on the situation, I suppose. In New York, someone could probably pull off Linnea better than they'd pull off Louisa, but the opposite might be true in Leeds.

I prefer Louisa although I do find Linnea to be quite charming. Too similar for sibs? They obviously begin and end with the same letters, but everything else is different. The stress is on different sounds. If I loved the names, I'd use them together for sisters. For twin sisters, I wouldn't, however.
