My favourite version of Eleanor is Leonora I think it is a beautiful name and I prefer how it sounds to Eleanor. I like Eleonora and Elinor as well.
My favourite nickname is definitely Nora or Norah I really like how it sounds. I don't mind Ellie it is sweet nickname but I know a few people called Ellie, so wouldn't want to call the child the same name as them. Elea is quite nice as well and is something different to Ellie. I don't know if Lea and Lena could be used as nickname for Leonora but I quite like them.
