Happy Wedding Day, Georgie and Elliott! Many congratulations to the happy couple - not only for tying the knot - but for doing it just 6 weeks after the arrival of their daughter, Amity! Now, let's catch up with the whole, extended Holt crew.
Callie has loved being a mother to Toby and he is such a joyous child to be a parent to. Being ambitious, Callie wasn't sure how she would juggle motherhood and working but her family have been supportive and they've made it work. She took at least the first few months off to bond with Tobias then began working again from home, when a manager of a new podcast series wanted Callie to head their project she realised she was going to have to leave the house to move forward in her career! Luckily, living with Georgie, childcare was no issue as Georgie was happy to stop at home with Toby and Arthur a few days a week while Callie took her business out into the real world. Callie has been moved out into her own house for about eighteen months now and decided she would love to be a mum once again. With romance the last thing on her mind, and Toby's biological father Peter only giving financial child support (he'd decided within the first few weeks of Toby being born that he couldn't and wouldn't be a parent and left the area), Callie decided to use a sperm donor to get pregnant with her second child. Using artificial insemination, Callie got pregnant at the first attempt and enjoyed another smooth pregnancy. While Toby was with Georgie, Mattie and Beth were at Callie's side as she endured another 18 hour labour before welcoming her second son two days after his due date, weighing 7lbs 13oz.
Georgie can't believe she is in her 30s already - where has her life gone? But the transformation her life has undergone in three years is astonishing and she couldn't have been happier. When Arthur and Toby were ten months old, Georgie was walking around the park with them in a double buggie when she came across a young man shouting for "Clio", she approached him to see if she could help and learned he'd lost his mum's Chihuahua! As they looked round the park he complimented how quiet her "twins" were and laughed as Georgie explained her situation. When they eventually found Clio - harassing the hotdog vendor - the young man, Elliott, asked if he could see Georgie again and the pair have never really looked back! Georgie insisted on keeping things slow, aware that she didn't want to confuse Arthur and nervous of getting hurt again but the pair couldn't help falling head over heels for each other and when Callie and Toby moved out of Georgie's house, she asked Elliott to move in. Within weeks he proposed and the happy young couple have been planning their wedding ever since. With ten months to the wedding Georgie and Elliott are shocked to learn she's pregnant but are excited to give Arthur a sibling. After her placenta detached during her pregnancy with Arthur, the hospital keep a closer eye on Georgie this time round but luckily everything sails smoothly. Elliott is by her side through a speedy, water birth lasting seven hours and the couple are delighted to meet their first daughter, weighing 7lbs 1oz.
Meanwhile, young Mattie has had a fluctuating experience with motherhood. She wouldn't have been able to do it without the unwavering support of her parents who took up a lot of the slack within the early months. But Freya is gorgeous and the apple of everyone's eye, she has made it all worth it with her curious, bright green eyes and cheeky smile. Six months ago, Mattie started taking Freya to playgroup a couple of mornings a week, on her first day there a young man introduced himself as Mackenzie and, noticing how lost and nervous she looked, helped her find her way to the playgroup centre. Over the next few weeks Mattie saw Mackenzie every morning that Freya was in playgroup and learned he was there dropping his five year old twin daughters off at breakfast club so he could rush off to work as a builder. Mattie eventually plucked up the courage to ask Mackenzie if he wanted to grab a coffee sometime when he wasn't working, he said childcare was an issue but he wanted to go out with her so maybe they could take their girls to a play centre. And that's what they did, five year old Nita and Nora loved Freya instantly and took her under their wing as they played. Mattie and Mackenzie hit it off too and now they're celebrating their six month anniversary.
Toby, Arthur and Freya are all now 3 years old, the cousins are very close, seeing each other several times a week but Toby and Arthur are closer - having lived together when they were young and sharing many interests. Freya doesn't mind often being the one left out because, as she is the only girl, she is often spoilt by her grandparents and aunties. Both Toby and Arthur aren't sure what to make about the new, screaming babies in their lives but they are glad they have each other. Freya meanwhile is pleased to have some girls in her life, finally, Nita and Nora are the best big sisters and they include Freya is everything they do.
