Solomon is fantastic, but I think it would take a certain sort of person to pull it off. It is a strong name to live up to. The people that Solomon suited pulled off the name with a confident and debonair charm. I think the majority of people that I have encountered named Solomon were African-American, but other people could probably use it too.

Lazarus reminds me of leprosy and dead people rising from their tombs. I feel bad, but I sort of associate the name with a miserable life plagued by ill health.

Basically, Solomon makes me think of strong Biblical characters with bold personalities and also of powerful or famous rulers with an aura of almost over the top magnificence.

I love Solomon! It's in my top 10, I would absolutely use it in real life if I had enough sons!

Ebenezer is too Scrooge for a first name in my opinion. Might be ok for a middle. Eben is awesome though as a first.

I've sometimes thought the nn Laz for Lazarus might be cool - like a fresh version of Chas.

Ebenezer isn't fashionable, here in South Africa, but it's been a mainstream name for a very long time indeed and it isn't surprising to see it. Usually shortened to Eben.
I've met several Solomons, all of them black, and a Jewish Shlomo!
Never seen or heard of a Lazarus.

They're all a bit too religious for my taste, although Solomon isn't that bad. Ebenezer is too associated with Scrooge and Lazarus...well, he was dead and then was brought to life again...I know it's a Christian story and a miracle, but I just think of zombies. And in Sweden lasarett is another word for hospital and it's probably derived from Lazarus.

Solomon is awesome, I love it! Ebenezer is not for me, just doesn't do anything for me. Lazarus is alright, I don't mind it.

I really like Solomon and Lazarus, but I'm not to keen on using Ebenezer today due to the Christmas Carol connection.

I love Lazarus and really like Ebenezer and Solomon.

I love Solomon. I'm not sure I'd call it "bold" but maybe that's because it's been one of my favorites for so long. I think it sounds: solemn, strong, sensitive, discerning...or maybe like an introvert with a good sense of humor. Miriam is a feminine name that I get a similar vibe from.

I've seen people mention Ebenezer on this board before, but I've never met one (or even heard it mentioned) IRL, so mostly it reminds me of Scrooge and sneezers. It also sounds outlandlishly old-fashioned to me, kind of like the male equivalent of Hepzibah, but maybe that's part of it's charm?

I've never heard Lazarus used either. It tends to make me think of the desert or a cave...also: Westerns, lizards, laziness, and zombies...because that's what I associated with the sound of the name and the story of the biblical Lazarus when I was a kid. I agree it could be nice as a MN, though I slightly prefer Lazaro.

I think they're great for middles but might be a bit ponderous for firsts. Eben is a nice nickname, and Laz is alright, but I don't really like Sol or Solly so I like Solomon least as a first name. Ebenezer I do wonder if most people would quickly associate with Scrooge. But as middles, yeah, I like em.

I really like Solomon. I know a teenage one who goes by Sol / Solly.

I wouldn't have thought I liked Ebenezer until meeting one (a little boy). I liked it a lot! He went by Eben. I have known a few Solomons, including a friend's son. I think it's handsome but no easy/good nns is a bummer.

I love Solomon. I used to know a kid named Solomon and he didn't go by any nicknames. I like Eben and Ben, but not Ebenezer so much. Lazarus just seems a bit much to me.
