It's not as pretty as Althea, which I love. It just sounds like Elysia/Alicia with a lisp.

Alethea is the name that got me interested in names! (one of my friends at my first school when I was 5) and I've loved it ever since. I would absolutely use it if I had a daughterI would probably pair it with Rosina, Mary (my two grandmothers) or Topaz because I love the combo

I dislike the sound - like Alicia with a lisp. If it's a-li-THEE-a, it's better but not good. I'd go for Althea or preferably Anthea. You've got some beauties among your mns. I particularly like:
Betony, Eleanor, Frances, Harriet, Helen. Jane, Joan, Margaret, Rosamond, Rosemary

I love it. If I was going to change my name, I'd change it to Alethea.Alethea Harriet - I'm not usually fond of Harriet, but this is my favorite of the combos listed. The names compliment each other, imo.I think Alethea pairs well with most names, though, which is part of what I like about it.

I've always loved the meaning and look of Alethea, but unfortunately I think it sounds like someone saying Alicia with a lisp. I don't like Alicia, and I think Alethea would lose its charm over time with people constantly conflating the two.

I love Alethea. It's one of my favorite names. It's so elegant and flowing. My daughter had a friend in high school named Alethea. She's the only one I've ever known.
