My sister's name is Pamela. She was called Pammy as a child and is called Pam as an adult.

My logical mind is telling me that any opinion is possible about any name, and not only possible, but it's a certainty that someone somewhere holds the opinion, but still, it really surprises me to see Pamela referred to as hideous, even though you've changed your mind, lol.

I like Pamela and I've always thought that Pam has the best name of all my sisters and me. I like that a poet invented it and that it's the title of the first novel written in English.

I don't think the nn Pam is all that bad, either, although not as nice as the full name.
