Gemma because I really dislike the Gillian spelling which makes me think of a fish gill. Gemma has a happier, more upset sound to it and the potential nn Gem is really darling, imo.
ETA that I meant to type upbeat instead of upset, lol. My point was that it has more of a happy, springy feel to it than Gillian.

I know that the actress Gillian Jacobs pronounces it with a hard G. Whether that's "correct" or not I don't know, but I like it!
