[Opinions] Re: Birdie and Bridie
Love both, although I'd spell the first one as Birdy. Bridie is especially darling. It's my favorite nn for Bridget. I've considered it for a future cat name -- the highest honor this name nerd / cat lady can bestow. My sister's MIL is Bridie (Bridget). She's from Ireland. Bridie feels like it could become mega-popular here in the U.S., like Sadie and Hattie, if people could get over the "bride" part. It's spunky and friendly. I wouldn't use it without a full name though. Bridget, the traditional full name, is the only one that I can think of. But for Birdy I could also see Bernadette or any bird name (Wren, Linnet, Mavis, Paloma, etc.) :0)

Ooooh, yeah I like Birdy. It's somehow more mature if that's even possible.I'm the same, I won't have kids but I will probably always have cats, they seem to just show up and then I have to take care of them.WAH. I love the idea of Birdy as a nn for a bird name omigosh. Like oooh a really heavy name like Philomela, nn Birdy. YES.
