I much prefer Ilana, but I don't mind Ilona at all.

The German pronunciation is what came naturally for me when I saw the name. I think it's gorgeous!

I think it is very pretty. However, it has the same issues as Ilene.

That aside, I think that Ilona is perfectly suited for a kid today. It's simple, has a history of usage, yet is not very common even though it has a trendy feel to it.

It's pretty. How would you say it? My first guess was il-O-na. I'm glad I clicked on it and saw the Hungarian pronunciation too; I think I prefer that, even though it would be hard to pull off in an English speaking place.

Overall I think I'd prefer either Ilana or Ione, but it's certainly a nice name.
