[Opinions] Nicknames for Marigold
We've decided to name our littlest girl Marigold and are having fun coming up with nicknames. So far, Em, Maggie, Maisie, and Mae are favorites. Can you think of any? Big brother's name ends in an "EE" sound, so we're especially excited about nicknames that don't end in that sound. (Though most of the cute ones do!)

Mac or Mack (or even spelled Mag), if you are interested in a nickname that is more tomboyish than cutesy instead.
I like Mae - it's cute, and definitely an interesting and different nickname for Marigold.
Em makes me think that it's short for Emma or Emily, or something like that, so I'm not sure that works. Maisie doesn't seem to work as a nickname either, though I like it as a name in its own right. Maggie does work as a nickname for Marigold, but I just really hate it. Also, people would probably assume her name was Margaret instead.
The nicknames that spring to mind for me are Mari/Mary, Goldie, or Ri - though those do all end in the 'ee' sound.

I love the name Marigold! It's actually one of my favorite girl names! I know you want to avoid the "ee" sound, but I wanted to suggest Iggy because nobody has mentioned it yet. Another one nobody has mentioned is Mo. My favorite from yours is Em.
Congrats! :)
Em, Maggie, Maisie and Mae don't make any sense at all as nicknames for Marigold, in my opinion. Where do you even get Em from? Just from the first letter M? Super confusing and unnecessary, in my opinion. And why shorten a beautiful name like Marigold with Em? Maggie is a typical nickname for Margaret or maybe Magnolia but doesn't work with Marigold, in my opinion. Same with Maisie. Mae is better on its own.
Sorry, I dislike far fetched nicknames, one of my pet peeves. Nicknames like Maisie were invented at a time when only a handful of given names were in heavy use. With four Margarets or eight Marys in a family you had to make up far fetched nicknames like Maisie, Mamie etc. But now it is unnecessary, in my opinion, and confusing.
In my opinion, the ones that work for Marigold are Mari and Goldie. I wouldn't use any other ones. I think the full name is much nicer! It's a great choice! :)
