[Opinions] Mira
What do you think?
I love the sound of it and it means "fate" in Greek so I'm in. Also: Mirai is a similar Japanese name.

I think it's a beautiful name. I have a friend from college named Mira. She is the only one I've ever heard of/met. It's very lyrical and jewel-y.
I love the name Mira. It's a name that I could see using. I mostly love the sound but sometimes when I say Mira it sounds like "mirror". That and the fact that it's a bit short are my only qualms with it. It's still one of my favorite names. I love all the meanings. I didn't know that it was a Greek word meaning fate - that's one more reason to love it. I also love how uncommon it is, but I fear that it has all the makings of a name that should be very popular and it is rising very quickly, even though it is not even in the top 500 I would not be surprised it made it into the top 50.

Hehe I also had a classmate named Mira but she was nice. My classmate named Miranda was not so nice. So the opposite, lol.
Although later I met Miranda again during college and she seemed fairly nice but very shy and a bit depressed. She had an astronomy class with me and we hung out a bit.

Hi !!!
I like it because it is simple...
But it has so many meanings!
It also means ...
"ocean" in Hindi
"good" in Albanian
"myrrh" in Judeo-Spanish
"notable" in Catalan
"mirror" in Japanese (translation of it I guess)
...and also it is one of the words for "aim" in Italian!

I absolutely love Mira. It's such a simple, pretty, underappreciated name.
Not digging Mirai, though.

I like it. It's actually my cat's name (short for Mirabelle).
I like it! It also means 'look/see' in Spanish.
I've never heard that Mira means fate in Greek.
Besides that it's the name of my 19 year old niece. It suits her. It's pretty trendy now, though.

me either...actually, if you look at the meaning on here, it means "peace". Just curious, where'd you find the meaning "fate"?
I speak Greek, my dude. Someone already replied with a goodle translate screenshot also.
This is off-topic, but I'm a girl...not a dude.
The OP's profile says they're from Greece, so I'll take their word for it. Doesn't seem totally wrong from what I just Googled. Not sure if Greeks use it as a name, though.

It's uncommon. But theoretically it could be used, as a reference to Greek mythology too.
