[Opinions] Re: WDYTO Sierra?
I like Sierra. It totally makes me think of the Sierra Nevada, where I'd go camping when I lived in California... big mountains, beautiful pine forest and meadows.I do think it's a bit dated now - not so dated that it sticks out. About as dated as Taylor or Sydney. It bothers me slightly that its meaning refers to the jagged shape of mountains. I wonder how it seems to a Spanish speaker. I guess it is about like Ridge, only fem.I can't explain why, but I have always felt that it is very slightly "downmarket" (as they say - I don't agree with the connotations of that term, but I imagine it does communicate the idea, better than if I described it in terms that appeal to me). It's like Jasmine or Brianna. That would not stop me from using it, but it's an impression worth noting. All those things together, and for me it's a GP. Like to see it, probably wouldn't use it. Suggest Sienna.Keira is a little more current but also a little more trendy. It also seems barely halfway between tacky and pretentious - which is a good level to be at, imo. I prefer the spelling Kira. I think it seems less trendy and more timeless. I like Kira a lot, maybe not enough to use it because of spelling issues; and Keira is okay, though it also has spelling issues (Ciara, Kira, Kiera, Kyra etc).- mirfak
