I absolutely adore Persephone. Such a beautiful name! Shame Princaia doesn't match up, but at least it doesn't look or even sound too awful.

I feel like it could have been worse. It could have been Princess or Princie or something.

It's a bit too much for me, personally. After having been on BtN for a couple years I've found I like Persephone purely as a mythological name, I can't really see it on anyone else but the queen of Tartarus. If anyone's curious, I did some searching and "princai" means "princes" (not "princess") in Lithuanian.

Princaia is odd. I guess she could go by Caia which is nice (prefer Kaia and Kaya). It makes me think of Pringles for some reason. And of the name/word Princess. Prin would also not be a great nickname :(Persephone sounds nice but the meaning is so so bad, I would never use it. I don't like the sibset because they both start with P but still have a totally different style.

Persephone is beautiful, but still...I mean, she's the queen of the underworld, and her name may mean "murder" or "destroy"!
And Princaia...how do you even pronounce it? Prin-KYE-ah? Prin-KAY-ah? Prin-SAY-uh? Prin-SYE-ah? It's awful.

Hi !!!Persephone is wonderful.
I love it since I was a child because I adore Ancient Greek Myths. It has a nice sound and pretty meaning.Princaia? What is it?
My first thought was a Russian name in the same style of Praskoviya.Byeeeeeeee

I have no idea what Princaia is. The only hit on Google is a names.org page, which gives names acrostic meanings, so not exactly the Oxford Dictionary. Is it prince-ya? Prin-ky-ah? Persephone looks delightful in comparison, but I can't say I'm a fan of the name for a person.

Prince-A-uh

Well that doesn't even make sense. I dislike it even more.

Little Persephone will find herself explaining for ever that, no, it really isn't Percy Fohn. I don't expect Princaia to grow up fielding too many questions; I expect the public to be deprived of speech. It made me think of the Toddlers and Tiaras post below. I fear the parents have got show-biz ambitions for their daughters, and it would be interesting if the girls grow up plain, bespectacled and too busy to bother with ego-trippery.

I'd be thrilled to meet a Persephone in real life, even though it's sort of 'meh' to me. Princaia has a pretty sound but I can't get around the saccharine meaning. Odd duo.

What is a Princaia?

It seems obvious to me as a native English speaker that it's meant to be a spin on 'princess'.

I wonder if its Hispanic, Persephone that is, because I have met a few now here in the southwest US under the age of 2.

They don't go together at all but maybe they wanted that. Persephone is nice.
