[Opinions] Zerelda
I'm completely enchanted by this uniquely U.S. name. According to BtN submissions, it's a variant of Serilda, which derives from the Germanic name Sarahild. What do you think?
Behold these combos, several of which are deliberately lavish:

Zerelda Agnes
Zerelda Beatrice / Beatrix
Zerelda Bethsabée

I haven't seen it before and a new name is almost always nice, but I can't say I like it.
I think I prefer Zelda. Zerelda is not horrible but it doesn't have the most pleasing sound to it either. Zelda is spunky and cool, it also works with a common or old fashioned middle name.
As for Zerelda I find this so old fashioned (unlike Zelda which is ready for a comeback) that I wouldn't pair it with anything that is still only slightly dated so no Zerelda Margery or Zerelda Agnes for me, in combination they really sound like someone's great aunt. I like Margery and Agnes paired with other names.
Cleo is spunky so that works for me or even Violet or Vivian (prefer this spelling). Vivian definitely gives Zerelda some life with its fresh, happy sound and meaning. Zerelda Viviana is good too even though they both end in A.

Ahhhh I understand. Vivien seems just as masculine to me as Vivian because it was originally the masculine French version. Vivienne looks very feminine. These days it doesn't seem to matter so much anymore and Vivian just looks happier and fresher to me if that makes sense. I do like Vivien because it reminds me of Vivien Leigh (I once read that her birth name was actually Vivian. Not sure if it is true but I thought it was interesting).
Zerelda's main claim to semi-fame is that it was the name of the mother and first cousin (who was later the wife) of notorious outlaw Jesse James. Apparently it was a favorite in his family, but doesn't seem to have been any kind of popular anywhere else.
His wife's full name was Zerelda Amanda and she was called Zee.
All things considered I prefer Amanda.
I don't think Zerelda is attractive at all.

Precisely! Zerelda evokes a wholesome hexer.
Given to a really appallingly stereotyped character by Enid Blyton in one of the Malory Towers books

Wow! I kind of love that Enid Blyton chose Zerelda for her American caricature. Also, that website seems scintillating.
Doesn't it! I just found it when I was googling 'Zerelda Brass'
