I know a Lianna, that spelling. don't know her middle name, though.
Since she's the only one I've come across, and she's quite nice, I like it well enough. a bit flowery, perhaps.

I would pronounce it lye-Anna, to rhyme English Diana. It doesn't look like it's the same name as Leanna (lee-Anna) or Liana (lee-Ahna) to me; otherwise why the Y?
It doesn't have any special appeal for me, but it's not bad. Vaguely evokes "lion."

Yeah I never even thought the "ly" could be pronounced differently. I don't think "ly" at the beginning of a word ever makes a "lee" sound... it doesn't look ambiguous to me at all. (although the anna vs ana is a bit ambiguous. I don't know about other places, but Americans tend to use -ana "ana", -ana "anna", -anna "anna", and -anna "ana" all interchangably).

In Game of Thrones y's are often used instead of i's like in Lyanna and Arya and others. So it is a fantasy world's pronunciation.

IMO, that's strike two against pronouncing it with an ee sound (strike one, it's counterintuitive... lysol, lysis, Lysandra, lye, Lyme disease, lyophilize).
Lyanna "Lee-anna" seems so apish to me. Since it's unheard-of except for the one icon, which is no biggie except the distorted pronunciation is so plainly imitative... unlike Khaleesi, which is clearly just made-up and isn't similar at all to any existing name; it's more tribute than mimic. Leanna / Liana >> Khaleesi, Daenerys and the like > Lyanna
Arya is not bad at all, as that's a normal pronunciation and Aria is trendy anyway.
Lyanna "lee-anna" also ruins any potential that Lyanna "Lye-anna" might have had, which is kinda sad IMO, I think Lyanna "Lye-anna" is pleasantly creative, if it were an independent invention, compared to the GoT name.

Yeah in my response to the OP earlier I basically was like if you plan on pronouncing it lee-AN-ə then I'd prefer to see it spelled Leanna, Lianna, or Liana. And that I feel Lyanna should be pronounced lie-AN-ə. As you mentioned I also like it and it reminds me of Lyra if you pronounce it the intuitive way not the GoT way.
Luckily the character in the books is not a prominate one because she died before the story began but she is an important character. Also there is another character with the name Lyanna in the show who is a child but she is not a main character. So you probably won't be seeing that many people using Lyanna because of GoT. Arya is a big character so I'm certain you'll see at least a good number of them especially since Aria is so popular.

I don't like the spelling Lyanna for multiple reasons.
Number One Game of Thrones is so popular everyone will immediately associate the two unless they haven't read or watched it.
Number Two there are at least 4 ways it could be pronounced and any child named it will probably constantly have their name mispronounced. LIE-an-ə, lee-AN-ə, LIE-ahn-ə, or lee-AHN-ə.
Number Three Leanna, Leana, Lianna, Liana, and Lyana are all spelling variants and I prefer some of them so I wouldn't use the spelling Lyanna.
If you like the pronunciation LIE-an-ə or LIE-ahn-ə then I would spell it Lyanna or Lyana - I prefer Lyanna. If you are pronouncing it as lee-AN-ə or lee-AHN-ə the spellings Leanna, Leana, Lianna, and Liana are better.
My favorite spelling for lee-AN-ə is Lianna or Liana. My favorite spelling for lee-AHN-ə is Liana. I like that Liana is also a plant name.
I actually really like Liana especially since it is a plant name. Liara is a similar name I also really like unfortunately it is connected to a video game so I'd never use it.
