The Haverford family has been faring quite well. During the two years that have passed since Hugo's birth the family has lead much calmer lives than in previous years. Alive and Neville have retired comfortably, and they're content to putter around the house tending to the garden and preparing for the next family occasion. Of course, even after their 32 years of marriage, the patriarchal couple is still madly in love.
Fiona and Spencer have settled into parenthood nicely. They are both juggling two jobs (Fiona is an accountant by day, and is running for city council when she has time and Spencer still works at the coffeeshop and is a student teacher as well) but they still smile at the sight of their beautiful son when they come home. They can’t get enough of their families oohs and aahs when they take Hugo to family gatherings.
Emme and Annemarie finally came home last year. They’ve decided to design and build their own home before they settle down into jobs and even think about parenthood. Annemarie’s family has quite a lot of money, which is letting them do all this. They are so excited to be incorporating different architechture techniques they saw during their travels into their new home. They’ve already bought the land, a fairly large peice in a wooded area near a lake.
Tris was released from state custody last year, and he’s been recuperating at his brother Raphael’s appartment. Alice and Neville offered, but he really didn’t want to be one of those sad young people living at their parent’s house. He’s become really closeto his brother in this time, and is using his extensive knowledge of economics to help Rafi accomplish his dream of opening a bookshop.
Raphael, meanwhile, has finally introduced his special girl to his family. Pippa MacIntosh met him in freshman year of college, and at first the two were just friends. Now they’ve developed into passionate lovers. Besides Tris, Pippa’s the only one who knows of Rafi’s dream job and she also has been very supportive. She herself hopes to become a professor of Philosophy some day.
