I guess so. The sound [æ] in Jas doesn't exist in Spanish — so Spanish-speakers tend to replace it with either [a] or [e] (actually, many American accents replace it with [e] as well).
I think it would depend if the person was reading Jasper or hearing someone else pronounce Jasper in a specific English accent.
