I'm going to do my own thing and actually create several different families here.
Tory, Brooklyn, Ava, and Carly were college roommates for three of their four years and became fast friends after meeting in their freshman year. They kept in close contact with each other despite living all over the country. Three years after their graduation, they all got together and had such a great time they decided to get together every few years and spend a week together.
Tory is a high school English teacher in California. Her dual degree is in English and secondary education. She loves words and spends hours writing when she isn't grading papers (which is nine months out of the year). She got married to a California native whose family owns a small vineyard.
Brooklyn is a mild mannered woman who studied international business. She is not yet married, but has spent the past three years traveling the world as a businesswoman for a large global company.
Ava is the comedian of the group. She and her husband own a restaurant/comedy club and, although they are just starting out, are hopeful that their venture will succeed beyond their wildest dreams.
Carly nearly didn't graduate from college and was six months pregnant when she did. Despite her degree in biology, she has found that being a mother is much more fulfilling to her. Her husband of two years is an electrical engineer and is very handy around the house (which is a good thing, because their house is a real 'fixer-upper').
