I like it but it's too Irish for me, in the sense that I don't like how Americans say it. Shay-mus just isn't quite right - the same way Kayt-lin for
Caitlin isn't right, only Shay-mus is much more subtly wrong.
But whatever, that's just something I'd think was important if I was doing the naming myself. People use
Seamus in the US and we say it the way we do and life goes on, and it's not a bad name.
