Palser is a variant of Palliser which is from Middle English paliser ‘a maker of pales, palings, or fences (for constructing ramparts, enclosing deer parks, etc.)’. According to the data at tinyurl.com/gl7czlk, Glorious is not found in England. It's an americanization of the German name Glorius from the Latin name Hilarius derived from hilaris 'merry, happy'.
