Year 0:
SO1: John "Jack" Raymond Larkin
SO2: Úna Margaret Crispina Lehany
Jack was an only child and grew up in a single parent household with his mother, although his grandparents only lived two doors down the row of houses they lived on. Úna is originally from Derry, Northern Ireland but moved to England to study. She comes from a large family, she's is the middle of three sisters and one golden child brother. The two first met at a traffic light party on campus which they were both dragged to by friends. Úna was in the third year of her degree whilst Jack was in his first. After much persuasion by Jack, Úna finally relented to the idea of dating a fresher.
Jack read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at university and went on to do a masters in International Relations. A politician in the making he has rather fanciful ideas, although he wouldn't admit it to you, of becoming Prime Minister one day. After two miserable years grinding along in a PR company Jack finally made it to parliament; he is currently working as a political aide to a backbencher MP for the opposition. His days consist of researching, reading reports, reading poll results, reading legislation and then writing reports about the legislation for other political aides to read and then write reports about etc. It's pretty dry and slow work but hey, he's on the ladder!
Úna is a junior doctor going into her third year of practice for the NHS. She's working hard on her ambition to become a consultant (only 5 more years... at minimum :/)! The hours are long and hard, sometimes her and Jack are so busy they're like two ships passing in the night. It's physically and emotionally taxing but it's also incredibly rewarding. Moreover, Úna now has an endless supply of stories to tell at dinner parties, they range from heartwarming to vomit inducing, so something for everyone!
Jack looks: Wavy black hair, grey eyes
Úna looks: Wavy red hair, green eyes
House: Victorian townhouse (second floor only)
Location: Hammersmith, London

Year 1: Random
Scandal! Jack's boss, Eric P. Paternoster, MP for Newton Morbury on Lyme, has become embroiled in a political scandal involving an au pair, a diamond necklace, a feather duster and tax payers money! You can read all the sordid details plastered across the front pages of today's tabloids. The party's enforcer has been charging about the office all day frothing at the mouth. Mr Paternoster's "mutually agreed upon" resignation is expected later today.
Jack has two options: go down with this ship, effectively stalling his career trajectory right on the starting line, or bail out and smuggle his way onto another steamer. What luck! A fellow political aide has let Jack know of a position available working under his MP. And this member is no boring backbencher, he is part of the the Shadow Cabinet! Jack is now a junior aide to the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. It's a step down in title and pay but it's a step up in workload...but think of all those juicy networking opportunities.
Úna is still working tirelessly towards her goals. She comes home exhausted and sometimes occasionally with various stains and bodily functions on her clothes. But she's finally getting to use some of the stories from her supply at these fancy dinners and garden parties Jack's new work is taking them.

Year 2: Career - Start new career
The party for the opposition has imploded in on itself. There are demands that the party leader step down and people are resigning from the Shadow Cabinet left right and centre. Jack's minister is one of the resigners. Jack writes up a letter of resignation for his boss, and that's it, just a backbencher now; Jack's position has become redundant and there doesn't to appear to be any opportunities to hop onto another MPs team. Either way, he's beginning to feel disillusioned with the political life style and hardly getting to see Úna. Jack meets with an old uni friend who now works for a popular broadsheet newspaper. He encourages Jack to write a piece about his role as a Political Aide, an insiders look into parliament, and submit it to his editor.
Jack writes a witty piece under the pseudonym of "Dogsbody" about his time in parliament. It's received enormously well by the editor and Jack is offered a column in the paper's Sunday supplements. Jack is now a Columnist and works from home writing a semi-fictional column about a downtrodden aide working in the House of Commons.
Úna loves being able to see Jack more now.

Year 3: Career - Promotion
Úna has started her specialist training with hopes of becoming a consultant. It was a tough call but she has chosen Oncology. Though she still doesn't know what field within Oncology to go down yet.
***
Year 4: Career - Start a new career
It's election year and after two years working in journalism Jack decided to return to politics by standing for his local constituency. He fought a tough battle and he won the race. Jack is now a Member of Parliament and his party is in the majority. He's a rookie MP so he doesn't have any big responsibilities or red suitcase or anything but he's dedicated to being the best representative of his constituency he can.
