I was basically imagining Ryan and Alex as a very liberal, possibly gender non-conforming couple that has a very unique, androgynous naming style due to personal taste and values. Not really my usual naming style but it is a game :b. For Round 2 I was searching for unisex British names and was considering Ellis, but then was looking through place names and found Islay. After I realized that's where the name Isla comes from & that they're pronounced the same way, it seemed like a good fit. I wanted a Z nature/word/color type name to match Rory's MN and ended up w/ Zephyr! So yeah, Islay is female.
