I really find Shelby unappealing in general, but I suppose I'd rather see it on a boy. All of the girls I've met named Shelby have been unkind and I knew a rocking awesome male Shelby.

I'd say girl. Though it's not a name I've thought about much. I can kind of imagine an adorable little boy Shelby too I guess.

I like it on a boy. It's fresh while on a girl it's boring.

It's definitely a girls' name unless you're talking about the antebellum South.

I like it on both! I prefer Shelby for a first name for girls, and a middle name for boys!
