I adore Marina so much so that I wish I'd used it somewhere in my dds' names. It's currently my #1 and I'd use it even though I don't live far from a marina, lol. It's definitely usable.
DH, OTOH, isn't wild about the name because he was a Marine at one point and also, he thinks she'd be teased because a marina is where boats are docked. I told him that Marina means "of the sea," so it doesn't matter if it's the name of a place where boats are docked. I added that Marina has been used as a name since about the 12th century and it's the name of royalty. Sigh, I just love it. I'd love to meet someone, anyone, named Marina. :-)
