Pepper is a cute nickname, but should stay a nickname.
Marigold is kind of nice and has a beautiful meaning, but it sounds like an old lady. Can't imagine it on a child.
Ethelred ...well, at least it's better than Etheldred or Ethelfleda, but no thanks.
EDIT: Gosh, is Ethelred MALE? It's even worse then...
