[Opinions] Re: Lucy
Any number of thoughts!I'd always intended to name my daughter Lucy. Didn't mention it to anyone, of course! And when she was born, she looked totally unlike a Lucy. Don't ask me how she got it right at the age of not even a day, but she did. So, out with the name books. I tried every single name that I could consider, and she continued to lie there and not look like any of them, except Caroline. So Caroline she was, for four good years until she got viral pneumonia and died. Whereupon I was lucky enough to have a second daughter, and DH and DS both insisted that she had to have one of Caroline's names - not Caroline, though. So I tried hard to get them to agree to using Lucy as a mn, but once again they had other ideas. So, no Lucy for me. What a pity!I should add that Lucy has never been megapopular where I live - I knew an Afrikaans Lucie who must surely have died of old age by now, and a friend of mine has a Lucy niece. And that's it. Which is odd, really; it's such a light, lively, softly shining name.
