DH really wants a family name from his family in the name in addition to Roelof (my grandfather's name). He suggested Cyrus.

I'm not sure if I like it enough to use it as a first name. Thoughts on it?

How does Cyrus Roelof sound as a combo?

If you were going to use those as two middle names, how would you combo it? I'm open to anything.

The rest of our list is Augustine, Augustus, Sander, Felix, Arthur, and Niles, but we're not settling til the hospital so I keep wanting to revisit it and this has been a curve ball from DH.

I think Cyrus and Augustus "Gus" are the most likely first names.

Hi !!!

I don't like Cyrus very much because it seems old-fashion and for arrogant man.

I think Roelof Cyrus is better...I like Roelof very much!!

Unfortunately DH dislikes Roelof and I'm kind of forcing the issue to keep it in the name at all. Roelof Cyrus Felix is a nice combo though.

My first thought when I saw this thread is that Cyrus sounds like he'd hang out with Wayne and Garth in a smoked out garage somewhere using words like "tubular."

Cyrus Roelof is quite a combo. Sounds like a king of some kind of elven land.

I have a friend named Roel, and I think I prefer this to the full name. Cyrus Roel is nicer to me.

I really like Sander!!

Roel is kind of awesome. I might run that by DH as a first name semi-honoring option. My grandfather always went by Rudy or his full name so it doesn't feel as close to him, but that's not a bad thing. But Cyrus Roel is super cool as well.

I really like Cyrus although I'm not sure I'd ever use it. I'd love to see it on a new person. The only thing I'm unsure about is the 'sigh' sound. OTOH, I think Cy paired with the right surname could be wonderful. Cyrus Roelof sounds great.

I like Cyrus. I know a kid named it. It's a good name. The best of all your names IMHO. Cyrus Roelof would be a great name. If I had to pick a different fn, I'd say: Sander Cyrus Roelof.

Well personally I dislike both Cyrus and Roelof and I think Roelof Cyrus works better. In that order they flow better and don't run into each other the same. I think Arthur Roelof Cyrus works the best.

I like Cyrus as a FN, I think it would fit in today just fine.

Arthur Cyrus Roelof would be my fav picking from your list of FNs.
