On either gender, you'd have to be reallyreallyreally devout for it to work at all. And since there's n way of telling what a new baby might grow up to believe or disbelieve, such names are best avoided. Add to that the fact that, like Hope and Charity, such names are historically female, and I'm as surprised as you were.

It's funny because he is an atheist.
Quite frequently, atheists are kind & caring, loyal, dependable trustworthy and, of course, faithful individuals.
Faith is a virtue for atheists too... just not faith in the existence of gods.
I think the name works okay for a guy. It's just a matter of getting past the natural assumption that it's a woman's name.
