[Opinions] Re: Naming the twins
Two small ones and twins... you have both my congratulations and my sympathy.I remember you posting here when naming Vance. You were down to two, I think, and I can't remember what the other name you had was, but I remember loving it... it was a dreamy, poet kind of name... only, it's not here in your possible boys names. Whatever it was, I think you should use that if you have a boy. It was perfect.Personally, I don't feel Roger or Nigel work at all. Myrtle and Vance sound like they have their own beautiful story, written on the pages of a dusty book. Roger and Nigel are just kind of lame. A bit silly, a bit stuffy, and totally uncool.Hester, yes. Definitely. Hester belongs in the dusty fairytale of Myrtle and Vance. She fits like she was always meant to be there. Nelle... not so much. She may appear, but she'd be the unimportant barmaid at the inn which is only there to give the heroes somewhere safe to sleep at night. She probably stirs the stew, and nothing exciting ever happens to her.
I'd be kind of annoyed if I was Nelle. Olive as a first name, I'd say no to that as well. It's too... I don't know. I just don't like it. Maybe it's just because I hate olives, and also food names in general. I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but I'm going to give them anyway, because I'm like that. I can't help it. Feel free to ignore them all (: Boys:

I think the dreamy, poetical name you mean is Lyle... I'm still very much in love with it. But I find difficult to find something to pair it with. Lyle and Hester would work, but another boys name to go with Lyle... I don't know. Also, I remember Lyle not getting a lot of love here. Suggestions are fine, thank you. I like Merlin, Asher, Anwen, Elspeth and Linnet. Sage is a long term favourite of mine, but as you say, not ideal with Myrtle.

Lyle! Yes, Lyle. Lyle is perfect. You need a Lyle. If you're still very much in love with it, I think it should go on the list. Lyle and Hester together are perfect. Lyle, Hester, Myrtle and Vance even more so.You're right, though, that Lyle doesn't really go with Roger or Nigel. But then, I don't think Roger or Nigel go with Myrtle and Vance. Lyle may be a little harder to find a boy's name to match, but I don't think impossible. I like Lyle and Vaughn... Lyle and Merlin, and Lyle and Asher also work for me. I glad you liked some of the suggestions.

I think Lyle goes perfectly fine with Roger ot Nigel- better in fact that Roger and Nigel together (which seem too matchy to me.) Lyle and Roger are both sort of bookish and wooly but also sleek and rebellious. Nigel and Lyle are a bit rhymey but still fit ok, though I think Nigel does sort of overpower Lyle. They're a bit "know-it-all" but not in a pushy sense- in more of a curious educational way. This pairing is more one-note, I admit, but I really do like Roger and Lyle together. I don't particularly care for Lyle but it's not badETA: also I think Lyle is nicer with Hester. Roger and Hester together are stern, Lyle and Hester together are reserved but friendly. Same goes for when considering the names in your current set. Roger stands out as a bit "bullyish" next to Myrtle and Vance, whereas Lyle is right on their level.
