[Opinions] Riley on a girl
I've always liked the name Riley for both genders. I usually lean towards using it on a boy (it's in my top 10) and I love the combo Riley Ezekiel. But lately I've been hearing it a lot on girls and I can't stop it from growing on me! My problem is that I've always seen "Riley" as the boy spelling. For a girl, I don't know how I would spell it- Rylie? Ryleigh? I don't want a made-up spelling but I can't get on board with "Riley" for a girl...Opinions? Thoughts on Riley / Rylie / Ryleigh?

I prefer it for a boy.For a girl, maybe spell it like the city in North Carolina, Raleigh. I suppose it is technically not the same but it isn't just a random creative spelling and I dare say most people would still pronouce it the same.

It's not a girl name at all for me. Ryleigh is only worse. I despise -leigh spellings and think it's butt ugly. Nothing remotely feminine about it.If I HAD to feminize Riley, I'd go with Rylie. But I'd more likely just choose a different name.

Aw, please no. I'm glad you want to reserve the Riley spelling for the boys, but let's reserve the whole name for the boys! Riley is my brother, great-uncle, great-grandpa, & 2nd great-grandpa's name, so it's a bit personal to me ;)

I don't hate Riley on a girl. I would prefer it on a girl than a boy. Girl-Riley seems like a 1940's intrepid lady journalist who uses her last name first as a way to get shit done. Boy-Riley is a spoiled brat who never stops screaming. I'd spell it Reilly. It looks feminine and it's not made up!

I can't get on board with RILEY on a girl either. Riley makes me think of a Rottweiler.I don't really like the name on a girl with any spelling, but Rylee is probably the nicest of the possibilities IMO. I think the -eigh doesn't fly well - it looks too surname-inspired and pretentious, and not all that feminine. Rylie is okay but too much like Kylie with an R. Reilly might also be nicer on a girl than Riley.
