[Opinions] Re: Emmanuel / Immanuel
in reply to a message by noel
I love Emmanuel (this spelling) and it's one of my absolute favorites. I don't see it as religious but when I've posted about it here I always get the "strong religious connotation" replies. It doesn't bother me though. I would use it anyway because personally I don't find it religious and I really don't care if people think I used it because of religious reasons. I would put it in the same category as Daniel and Gabriel but I guess many wouldn't.
I think it's strong yet soft at the same time. It's kind and sweet but not weak.
ETA: I don't pronounce Emmanuel and Immanuel the same. I pronounce Emmanuel with an Em-sound and Immanuel ee-manuel.
* Ellen * Astrid * Eira * August * Isidore * Emmanuel *
but she wants to be sure 'cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
