[Surname] SONDHEIM and KORNHEISER 's meaning
hello,i want to find these
looks like german surname;
SONDHEIM and KORNHEISER.first, SONDHEIM is
surname of 'Stephen Sondheim',
the American musical composer and lyricist.

i already know
'HEIM' is means 'home','farmstead','settlement'.
i just know what 'SOND' means.
and KORNHEISER is
surname of 'Tony Kornheiser',
who is sports tv show host.
i don't get it this surname's
origin is german or other countries...and i want to know this surname's meaning, too.

The surname Sondheim comes from the placename Sontheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Kornheiser is probably an alteration of Kornhäuser which is derived from the placename Kornhaus, now Mšec in the Czech Republic.
