I LOVE Opal and would use it. My daughter has a classmate named Opal and its only made me like the name more. :)

I hardly like any of them!
although if I'd meet people really named some of these, I wouldn't dislike them.
Archie, Nellie, Ramona. Those are ok.

Goldie, Grover, Homer, Ida, Lula, Mamie, Myrtle, Opal, and Woodrow hit the spot.

I love Opal and Ramona. I definitely think of Ramona as Spanish or Italian, though.

Archie - I think Archer more complete to say and read, but this is a standard cutesy choice.
Belle - Popular for a reason. I like the unexpectedness of Bell better, but it's a pretty sound and idea.
Bettie - Aw, I kinda like this spelling. I have really only met people who spell it Betty, but this seems more modern. I like it!
Etta - Adorable! One of my favorites. I would likely prefer it as a nickname, but it's still chic.
Goldie - I wonder why more people don't use this now. It seems like such a perfect choice for parents who want to be celeb-y but still maintain a bit of legitimacy. I really think people are missing out on Silver, Sterling, Goldie and Golda.
Grover - A bit too Sesame Street for me still. It's a decent name in itself... but it will remain vintage for a while.
Homer - Would adore this if not for the Simpsons.
Ida - Simple, sweet and saccharinely vintage. I agree.
Lula - I like this better than Lila and Lola right now. It just seems a little daintier.
Mamie - not a fan.
Myrtle - I know one. It's a pretty cute name. I think it works on kids better than adults because it has the adorably clunky factor.
Nellie - HUGE fan of Nell. This seems unnecessary to me, with the cutesy ending, but I dig it as a nickname.
Opal - Cute, gemmy, and in vogue.
Ramona - A very bold and whimsical choice. A very "Matilda" type name.

Anyway ... I hate most of them. It's not my style. I particularly dislike Myrtle, Opal, Mamie, and Homer. I mean, they're fine on people 90+ I guess... but on a child, yuck.

Ida, Wiley, and Bettie are alright.

I love Archie, Belle, Etta, Ida, and Lula. I really love vintage names, and these ones really fit into the British vintage category too. Archie's actually a guilty pleasure of mine since it's so popular here.

Archie seems out of place to me, as I associate it more with British toddlers. But otherwise I can totally imagine people with these names running around in the early 20th century.
