The turn of the century has come and gone, and the Anderson clan has been rapidly expanding.
Isaac and Corrie are now happy grandparents to several children, while still raising their youngest three at home. Isaac is still working at the sawmill, though he now leaves the manual labor to those younger than himself. He is in charge of all shipping and delivery at the mill, now. Corrie is enjoying her new role as a grandmother, while continuing to raise children and take on activities in the community.
Josie and Thad are rapidly approaching their ten year anniverary. Thad has a job as a blacksmith, and has the reputation for being one of the most sought after men in the county. Josie stays at home to care for their home and children, though she also spends a lot of time visiting her mother and sisters who live nearby. Their eldest, Isaiah, is eight. He is followed by Theo, 7; Bella, 4; and the twins Carrie and Minnie, 1. The Jacobs family is, by and large, very musical--Thad has a great singing voice, and Josie often accompanies him on the piano. The children also have nice voices, and Josie is teaching the boys to play the piano also.
Judy has been married to her husband, Verne, for six years. Verne is a farmer, and his family has been farming in the area for three generations (four, if you count Judy and Verne's children). Their eldest is five year old Charity, who is a delightful little girl who loves to be outside. Her siblings are Hope, 3; and Eli, 1.
Steven, 24, has been employed full time at the sawmill since he was seventeen. He loves his work, and is very good at it. He and his wife, Phoebe, have two little boys whom they spoil immensely.
Nora, 22, married a local farm boy who decided to move West in search of better acreage and better land. They left with their little girl two years ago, and write frequently. Their latest news is of a new baby--a son!
Simeon was married this past spring. He and his wife are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their first child. Simeon works as a deputy for the local sheriff's office.
Donna, 18, was also recently married. She and her husband, Jeff, live in a comfortable house in town. Jeff's father owns the bank, and Jeff is employed there as a teller.
Maddie, 15, though still at home, entertains thoughts of going off to the big city to be a broadway star. She is still interested in singing and dancing and putting on a show.
Natalie, 14, also has aspirations to travel--to France! She wants to get into fashion and design some of the newest dresses. She doubts that Isaac will ever let her go to France, however.
Julie, 12, has had a hard time with all her siblings growing up and getting married. She does, however, love being an aunt and is getting lots of practice for her eventual motherly duties. She volunteers to babysit or help out whenever her brothers or sisters need her.
