The Family
Rafferty and Hermione met through mutual friends shortly after graduating college. Rafferty was just embarking on his career as a wildlife photographer and Hermione was working in a publishing house, searching for new photographers for a coffee table book. What began as a perfect professional match soon transformed into a romantic partnership.
Rafferty and Hermione married soon after meeting and eldest son Ivo was born shortly thereafter when the couple were 26 and 25 years old respectively. Just a year later Cosima followed and on Hermione's 30th birthday she gave birth to the twins, Ted and Magnus. The pair believed that their family was complete but were thrilled to be surprised ten years later by the birth of baby Conrad.
As a family they have enjoyed many an adventure with Rafferty and Hermione opting to educate their children from home in order to be able to enjoy travelling extensively abroad. However, as the elder children have reached their teen years the family has settled somewhat permanently in a beautiful apartment in Paris with their two dogs Minerva and Artemis and their cats Polly, Betsy, Wilbert and Luella.
Eldest son Ivo has his mother's blonde curls and his father's blue eyes. He has recently began university at Berkeley where he studies conflict resolution and writes a column on human rights for the school paper. Although studious, he also enjoys playing an active role in student life and surfs or sails whenever he can.
Cosima, the lone daughter, is in the image of her mother, with long and curly blonde hair and dazzling green eyes. However, in her character she greatly resembles her father. As a child she professed an interest in photography but has developed a prodigious talent for musical composition. She plays piano and guitar beautifully and enjoys writing and performing songs with friends, although she will be the first to admit that she is not
Twins Ted and Magnus are identical and great friends. While they may seem similar to an outside observer the family knows that they have many differences. Both boys look greatly like their father and, other than their straight brown hair like their older brother. Magnus, inspired by the family's travels, dreams of being a marine biologist when he is an adult. Ted similarly wants to work with adults, although he is more interested in working to protect endangered animals in Africa. Both boys enjoy hiking, surfing and sailing together. Ted also plays guitar and Magnus plays the violin.
Baby of the family Conrad is much doted upon by his elder siblings. While he enjoys their company he is a quiet and gentle child. He most loves spending his time reading books to his brothers and sister and pets, being taught to take photos by his dad and cooking or drawing with his mum.
