I love Alice, it is one of my top names. I've found it's very popular at BtN, and I have no doubt it'll be in the top 20 baby names in the U.S. in the next ten years or so.

I think for a lot of years, people used Alison when they could have been using Alice all along. She was just considered old fashioned for a while -- she now fits it nicely with all the Isabellas and Roses and Lilys.

I don't remember what first attracted me to Alice. I suppose just the sound, and I don't have many personal favorite A names. I probably stayed for the great associations and feedback. Sometimes I think about Alix and Alicia too, but I'd be more inclined to use Alice.

I think of Alice in Wonderland, one of Tina Fey's babies, and the woman my uncle dated before he passed away. She was so sweet, so strong, and rocked a red pixie cut. Loved her, she's what really makes me think of Alice as the backbone of a team. Alice from the Brady Bunch is also hilarious, as well as a backbone of a team. :)
