I feel like Amanda is the Isabella/Sophia of my generation. I know OODLES of them. Oh so many. It's become boring, and I associate it with the 80s and other names like Jessica and Nicole, which I don't like. But I guess I think Amanda is more tasteful than a lot of other 80s names, like Brittany. I can see its appeal if I try really, really hard to divorce it from my associations.

That said, most of the Amandas I've known have been totally great people.
