It's been another five years and a lot has happened in the Caruso family!
A year ago, Ella and Max received surprising, surprising news. They were expecting triplets! Two girls and a boy. Of course, being triplets, they were born rather prematurely but they are quickly becoming healthier and healthier. The youngest, Gus, is already very protective of his sisters. At least that's how Ella sees it. Max sees it as Gus being super clingy and in need of his sisters' protection, which they gladly give him. But that's just the difference in perspective. Libby, Romy, and Gus have been home for the past couple of weeks and everyone is thrilled to have them home.
Another big change came with Lolo. Remember that boy she kept calling her "boyfriend" when she was thirteen? Well, surprise! They started dating for real and are now engaged. The wedding is in a couple of months and everything will be beautiful. Lolo hasn't told her mom yet, but part of the reason they are getting married at such a young and tender age as eighteen is that she is expecting their first child. Lolo figures she'll tell her mom sooner rather than later, but then again, she's been telling herself that since she found out about the pregnancy. Hopefully, it'll be sooner.
Recently, Cas told his parents that he wanted to date. His parents gave him permission, on the condition that he promise not to get his girlfriend pregnant. He laughed it off with an offhand, "Of course I won't. It's not a girl that I want to date." His statement took his parents slightly off guard but only for a minute. They then laughed with him and agreed that he would be fine in such a situation. So Cas brought his boyfriend, Roger, home with him and everyone loves him.
Ally broke up with Cory, but not before giving birth to two more of his children, Hank and Arlie. It took her a lot of courage (and a lot of encouragement) to bring it to an end but she eventually did what she needed to. Things were not good in their household. Cory was past the point of almost abusive. He even started abusing Una, letting Ally know how much he had grown to hate Una. Una was a sign that Ally had slept with another man, even though Ally kept telling him that Una was the product of rape. It was then that Ally sought help. That was the last straw. Now she is living by herself with her four children, just hoping that things will start looking up for her. She's had it tough and she really wants a better life for herself than she's been dealt.
