It as my paternal grandmother's second name (first is Laura), her father was from Portofino and her mother from Milan but she was raised in Lima and I think she was born here too. She was among the youngest of several siblings.
Never heard of this name, but since her heritage is Italian, I wonder if the -filia suffix could mean "daughter"?

I always assume that Italy and Greece has such intetwined history together that Greek can be influenced by Latin (and etruscan) and that Latin can be influenced by Greek (and pre-hellenic Greek languages). It happens with their mythology why wouldn't it happen with their etymology?
