I like Robin for both a girl and a boy, but I prefer it on a boy. On a man Robin sounds handsome, clever, playful and confident. It reminds me of Robin Hood. Robin Cook is the name of a member of Parliament in Britain and an American doctor and author. The only female Robin or renowned that immediately comes to mind is Robin Wright who acted in "The Princess Bride."
