[Opinions] Hallie
So I'm expecting a daughter, and I really want to call her Hallie Rose. But I don't know if it'll still suit an adult? So I'd like a longer name, which maybe she could use when she's older. I'm considering Hallietta (I made it up, it's based on Harriet), Halcyone, and Valhalla (after Viking heaven), but they all seem too weird. More ideas I kind of like:
Halla
Halima
Harriet
Halma
Rosa Hallie

I love Hallie, as long it's pronounced HAL-ee and not HAY-lee. I hate Hayley. I've loved it since I saw the Lilo version of the Parent Trap :)
I think Hallie is fine on its own or as a nn for Harriet. I know a Halimeda "Hali" (pronounced like Hayley for some reason) but Hallie could work.
To me this name seems quaint and old fashioned. I think it's adorable.

I love Hallie, and I think it does suit an adult. As well as Julie or Jamie or Laurie does.
Of the names you list, I prefer Halcyone. It'd be a fun name to bear, with nn Hallie.
My favorite long name for Hallie is Halimeda. It's Greek from mythology and means "thinking of the sea," or "cares about the sea." Hal-ih-MED-a. I got it from a character in a book.
By the way, please post under only one name on the message boards.

Well, I think that Hallie is a nickname for Harriet that just isn't used as much. So, clearly Harriet would work.
However, I will say that I like Hallie as is. I grew up Heidi, with a sister Holly... so have always been drawn to the Hallie, Haidee and Hailee names. I think they work fine for children and adults.
Plus, Hallie Rose is adorable.
As for alternatives, you listed Halima, but forgot Halina. I think that would work swell and Halina Rose is also quite lovely.

ah!!! A real live Eulalia. I am incredibly excited.
That was a beautiful choice for your daughter.

Wow congrats on both your upcoming daughter and on naming your other children so fabulously! Eulalia is so beautiful.
I personally looooovvvvve the idea of Halcyone Rose "Hallie" but I also quite like your invention of Hallietta: very pretty. There's also Halldora, which is sort of Valhalla-ish. Peter, Eulalia & Halldora Rose?
